SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

NOTE

LIMITATIONS OF THE RULE OF LAW 

  1. Ignorance
  2. poverty
  3. overcrowding of the courts
  4. Immunity clause for certain individuals in public offices
  5. delegated legislation
  6. administrative tribunal
  7. institution of special courts
  8. During “a state of emergency” 

SOLUTIONS TO THE LIMITATIONS OF THE RULE OF LAW

  1. it helps in resolving conflicts
  2. it restricts people from behaving in an untoward manner
  3. It deters people from behaving in a manner that affects other people negatively
  4. it leads to the following due process
  5. it leads to a respect for the system and the leaders of the system
  6. it prevents any form of dictatorship as everyone answers to it
  7. It ensures that the principles of law and justice are adhered to by everyone which brings about fairness and equality of all before the law
