Lesson Content

Day 1-2: Counting Numbers 1-250

What are numbers? Numbers help us count things around us like toys, books, and friends.

Counting Practice:

  • Start counting from 1: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… up to 250
  • Use objects like bottle caps, pencils, or stones to practice counting
  • Practice saying numbers clearly: “one, two, three…”

Skip Counting:

  • Count in 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12…
  • Count in 3s: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18…

Day 3: Writing Numbers

Number Writing Practice:

  • Start with numbers 1-10, then 11-20, and so on
  • Practice writing numbers neatly
  • Remember: each number has its special shape

Day 4: Simple Addition (2-digit numbers)

Addition means “putting together”

  • Example: 23 + 15 = 38
  • Example: 34 + 12 = 46
  • Use counting to check your answer

Day 5: Simple Subtraction

Subtraction means “taking away”

  • Example: 25 – 3 = 22
  • Example: 47 – 5 = 42
  • Always subtract the smaller number from the bigger one

Examples in Class

Counting Example:

“Count these apples: 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎 = 5 apples”

Addition Example:

“Mary has 12 sweets. Her friend gives her 7 more sweets. How many sweets does Mary have now?” 12 + 7 = 19 sweets

Subtraction Example:

“John has 15 marbles. He gives 4 marbles to his sister. How many marbles does John have left?” 15 – 4 = 11 marbles
