HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Human trafficking simply means trading human beings for money.

FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN NIGERIA

  1. poverty
  2. greed
  3. corruption
  4. unemployment
  5. low self-esteem
  6. Ignorance
  7. polygamy
  8. socio-cultural practices and gender oppression
  9. war and civil unrest
  10. lack of contentment 

CONSEQUENCES OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

  1. death
  2. unwanted pregnancy
  3. stigmatisation
  4. venereal diseases
  5. corruption
  6. Illiteracy and poverty 

PREVENTIVE MEASURES AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN NIGERIA

  1. public enlightenment and sensitization programs

  3. advocacy campaigns against human trafficking
  4. stiffer punishments on human traffickers and their connections
