MODULE CONTENT

MEANING OF POPULATION AND HOUSE

Population: is the total number of people living in a particular area.

House: it is where we live.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN POPULATION AND AVAILABLE NUMBER OF HOUSES

Increase in population always lead to increase in request of houses and the available number of houses will not be sufficient.

REASONS WHY EVERYBODY DOES NOT OWN A HOUSE IN NIGERIA (HOUSING SHORTAGE)

1. Many people are poor
2. Building Materials are costly
3. People cannot easily obtain loan
4. Cost of land is high
5. Cost of Building is high
6. Some people do not want to own personal houses.

SOLUTIONS TO HOUSING SHORTAGE

1. Price reduction on building material
2. There should be housing loan for workers
3. Building of affordable houses by Government at local government level
4. Land should be free
5. Banks should make it easier for people to get loan.
