Topic: Safety Measures
The computer lab is a place where students learn practical uses of the computer, such as programming, networking, database management, etc.
Measures to help avoid problems include:
- Blink your eyes frequently to reduce dryness.
- The top of your eyebrow should be level with the top of the screen
- Adjust settings to adapt your body for the proper weight and lumber support.
- Shake your hands periodically when typing for extended periods.
- Take frequent short breaks when performing repetitive tasks.
SAFETY RULES IN THE COMPUTER LAB:
- Surge protectors: A surge protector is used to protect a computer from electrical surges that can damage components and destroy important information.
- Static mat: Place every laboratory computer on a static mat.
- Moving equipment: When moving electrical components in the lab, be sure to look out for cables on the floor to avoid tripping.
- Liquids: Keep all liquids away from computers and electrical equipment in the lab.
- Personal Information: A computer laboratory is not a place for students to enter their personal information on websites.
