Topic: Vocabulary Development: Words Associated With Cultural Entertainments

 

  1. Acculturation: The process of learning the customs and traditions of a new culture.
  1. Artifact: An object that is created by humans and that has cultural significance.
  1. Belief: An idea or a set of ideas that is accepted as true.
  1. Custom: A traditional way of doing something.
  1. Etiquette: The rules of polite behaviour in a particular society.
  1. Folk art: Art that is created by ordinary people and that is not intended for sale.
  1. Heritage: The traditions, customs, and beliefs that are passed down from generation to generation.
  1. Identity: The sense of who you are and where you belong.
  1. Ideology: A set of beliefs that guides the way people think and act.
  1. Language: The system of communication that is used by a particular group of people.
  1. Literature: The written works of a particular culture.
  1. Norm: A standard of behaviour that is considered acceptable in a particular society.
  1. Ritual: A ceremony or act that is performed regularly in a particular culture.
  1. Symbol: An object, image, or act that has a particular meaning in a particular culture.
  1. Tradition: A custom or belief that has been passed down from generation to generation.
  1. Values: The beliefs and principles that are important to a particular culture.
