What are Categories of Crime?
Categories of crime are different groups or types of crimes based on who is hurt or affected. Crimes are placed into groups to help us understand them better.

Personal Crimes
What are Personal Crimes?
- Crimes that hurt individual people directly
- Actions that harm someone’s body, feelings, or belongings
- Crimes against one person or a few people
Examples of Personal Crimes:
Physical Harm:

- Hitting, punching, or fighting someone
- Hurting someone with weapons
- Pushing or kicking people
- Causing injuries to others
Stealing from Individuals:

- Taking someone’s bag or wallet

Threatening People:

What are State Crimes?
